At the moment I am with admiral on a multi car policy. Cars on the policy at the moment include:

Integra as a weekend / occasional driver
Pug306 as the work horse
Clio 1.6 for the missus
Vauxhall Zafira for her parents

I've just had a renewal quote from admiral for approximately £1950 for all cars. Insurance due 7th feb.

£680 for teg
£430 for pug
£650 for Clio
£220 for Zafira.

Protected ncb, 10 years for her parents, 7 for me but 0 for the missus as she had a minor accident.

All cars except the pug306 under 10k miles. The pug doing 10k.

Are there any other insurance companies that specialise in multi car but also in imports as I think the prices are high for me?

I'm 25, 7NCB, 1 minor accident, and live in quite a nice safe area.

Are they recommendation for multi-car policy and imports? Any recommendation would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Carl.

Seems quite reasonable to me, for reference I'm 22 with 5NCB and it's a fair bit higher with Admiral!

Without the multi car discount mine would have been £910 which is a rip off of you ask me.

I take it yours is an individual policy and not multicar?

You would probably be better taking the DC5 off the Admiral policy as that rate seems quite high compared to what you should be getting, you could always leave the other 3 in place as they dont seem to bad price wise. (clio seems high but if your partner is younger that could be why its bumped the Clio up)

If you wanted me to take a look at a quote for you id be more than happy to help, just drop me a PM with your contact number and i'll get in touch personally.

Kind Regards
Neil

Well my renewal is up on 4th february

Just thought id also post up my findings..

For those that tried Sainsbo's

I got a really great qoute from them, around the £260 mark but that was for a standard dc5

When i rang up they were able to accept, wheels, bodykit and suspension but as soon as i mentioned performance increase they said they couldnt insure me.

Now i am currently with Greenlight and to be honest would rather have stayed with them but their renewal was higher than last year and they said they couldnt beat it.. They qouted me £393 without mods and basically +£90-100 with performance mods. Im not willing to pay £500 a year for a car that moves a handful of times a year.

So i rang around today and went to adrian flux as i was with them 2 years ago with the teg and they were very good also!

The girl was very helpful and was able to give me loads of options on which policy id like to take, long story short they were coming in at £436 with all mods and performance mods declared and if i insure my bike with them also they said theyd do my car for £380

So I rang Greenlight back incase they were able to beat the £436 but unfortunately not.. Pity as ive always had great advisors who know their stuff and id have liked to stay with them.

Maybe next year.

Thanks for the info Alan, I might have to give Adrian flux a call too.

Neil did call me today and his initial prices look promising, after some number crunching it looks as though green light are the one to go for regarding the teg and the pug. The missus got cheaper quotes on go compare with a company called goskippy too; not sure if they're good though?

I think I'm going to call Neil again tomorrow and get the definite figures but also give Adrian flux a call.

Alan how old are you if you don't mind me asking as those prices seem really good.

Gave green light another call.

Price for the Honda was £539.39 which is already cheaper then admiral. However they were unable to mirror the ncb to the Peugeot as I've had an accident in the last 5 years.

However after calling admiral, they are willing to issue me with 2 ncb certificates for the Peugeot and Honda. So I'm gna call green light again tomorrow.

I also called Adrian flux, they did however beat green light for the Honda.

Honda was £450 (with 7 ncb)
Peugeot was £422 (with 0 ncb)

After realising I will be getting 2 certificates this is likely to significantly drop.

Looks like I may be going with Adrian flux at the moment but I'll keep shopping around!

I could now potentially look into going to individual companies and not having the multi at discount as it seems a cheaper option this way.

Another year gone and insurance is due again..... Last year i ended up being insured by GreenLight.

This year i have been shopping around for the following cars to be insured:

2L DC5 Type R ~ 3k miles
1.6L TDCi Ford Fiesta ~ 10k miles

8 Years NCB availble on each car policy

cheapest i have found is Sky Insurance with a combined price of £675 for both cars.

I've tried the following companies who havn't been able to beat the above price:

Adrian Flux
Admiral
Direct Line
Keith Michaels
Brentacre
A-Plan

I am however awating my renewal through from GreenLight but in the mean time; which other companies do people recommend to try?

kind regards,
Carl.

Paceward
Prestige
Chris knott

Maybe try some of the underwriters directly like LV/Highway

Sainsburys seems to be quite popular

I got both my Dc5 and Fiesta ST insured with Admiral on a Multi Car policy for £530 and I live in NI which is usually more expensive than everywhere else so couldn't have been happier.

Sainsbury's were by far the best for me when looking Sky unfortunately as said above have gone downhill and were not even close to competitive but saying that I can say the same for Keith Michaels and Greenlight :-(

Sky matched my Greenlight quote for my S14a, but not for the DC5. Perhaps they prefer Nissans. :)

Have used Sky insurance for the past several years and the last couple of renewals dates I have been very disappointed with them, only stayed with them last time to save the hassle in changing.
However this year I will be changing as I am fed with the constant errors in their paperwork, I'm forever ringing them to get it right before I pay for the new premium.

They really have gone downhill.

Pace Ward have been superb with me and surprisingly the cheapest this year.

Greenlight for the last few years were good including a claim but not competitive this time around.

Greenlight dominated this year for me, everyone I called were quoting in the high £500's where Greenlight absolutely smashed it quoting me just under £450
