I would have thought it was the input bearing if it stops when the clutch is depressed. When the clutch is depressed, the release bearing is loaded and the gearbox input shaft is then disengaged from the drive, when you release the clutch the input shaft becomes engaged and therefore begins...

Another confirm here. Running Rota Torque 17x8 ET48 with Potenza RE070 225/45/17 and they are fine. The RE070 is a very chunky tyre too... and i'm on Meister R coilovers but not too low. There isn't bags of room on my setup though but on Showa you should be absolutely fine I would think!

This, start with 1200 if the lamps are fairly bad, then 1500, 2000, 2500 then polish with a machine and medium pad with a plastic polish or paintwork compound.

Can anyone confirm if 17x7.5 ET45 with a 225/45/17 will fit all round without any problems? And another choice I have is 17x8 ET48 with the same 225 tyre, but unsure if the fitment will look right with that offset. I can see people are running this size wheel but not necessarily this size...
