What type of weight saving are you looking at by replacing the bonnet with a carbon fiber one? Is it a worthwhile upgrade or do you really need to be thinking about throwing out the air con etc if you're starting to get serious about it?

My mintex pads hardly squel at all. I notice it a bit sometimes but it doesn't bother me in the least. The extra bite is worth it :) ... it's saved me on more than one occasion!

95k on the clock (I've done 20k in one year since owning it). Mostly motor way miles with no track days. Don't know what the auction grade was but it was a very clean car when I got my hands on it.

5w 40 I'd never try to engage vtec until I'm all warmed up. I always keep it under 2.5k until I have a few miles of warming up covered. Something is very definitely wrong though, the push back from the car feels like I've changed gear at 900rpm for a few seconds or something.
