How does a DC5 compare to an S2000

It's hard to say exactly what the ST is missing. I'd guess as a driver you don't feel as connected to the road, you don't feel as much through the car. The engine just drones really, and is not a patch on a k20 etc. It looks slightly awkward, a bit top heavy, not sleek. Many small matches are...

How does a DC5 compare to an S2000

I also had a mk7 Fiesta ST. It was mapped by Finsport to something like 230-240bhp with fmic, intake, exhaust etc. Good car, but it's missing the extra thing that the DC5 has. I honestly believe the Fiesta is a little overrated. It needs a LSD, especially mapped.

Going for a blast - how do you drive your car on the road?

I'm kind of spoiled with some fairy decent roads around where I live. My commute is part of the Whitby to Pickering road that Mr Clarkson bangs on about being fantastic. Anyway, I usually just pick and choose my moments. If it's completely safe, traffic's clear and i'm at a fun section of road I...

Bit at the bottom of the drivers window

Mine are peeling, but also when I look down, the bit of the strip that makes contact with the glass is bent and actually not touching the glass at all. So painting isn't going to do it.

    Blasted ballasts!

I went with a 3rd party HID kit after having problems. No regrets or issues since. HID's Direct I think was the place I got them from.

SRS light on after wheel swap.

Thanks. I guess it's something like this procedure: http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=308198

    Newbie thinking about a Dc5

Lol. People do say (and there is logic behind it) that crap tyres fitted to a car suggests skimping in other areas too, which may be more hidden. But then maybe it was an old woman who used to drive it.

SRS light on after wheel swap.

I disconnected it for about 20-30 mins this evening while I made sure the yellow airbag wires were definitely connected properly, which they were. I've been reading up on some way of resetting the system somehow. Might give it a go if nothing else works, and hopefully the airbag won't go off in...

    Newbie thinking about a Dc5

For a new import of than mileage and apparent quality, I don't think it's a bad price. Weak pound must make importing new ones a bit expensive atm. Looks a clean example from the pics though.

SRS light on after wheel swap.

I put a retrimmed wheel on that I got from Royal steering wheels, and it's great. Alcantara sides and patterned leather top and bottom. In swapping over I had an issue with one of the torx screws, basically shredded it, but got it out with an extractor. During this time I had the airbag...

    Vibration noise problem

I think the B-pipe uses a triangular mount like: https://tdi-north.store/collections/honda-integra-dc5-exhaust/products/js-racing-upgraded-bush-b-mkb-b and the back box uses a couple of these: https://tdi-north.store/collections/honda-integra-dc5-exhaust/products/js-racing-upgraded-bush-a-mkb-a...

    How much for a car?

We, in this country, worry way too much about mileage. Problems can strike at virtually any time or mileage, so don't worry about it so much.

    Bad drive shaft or bearing?

Do you just mean one of the rubber boots might be knackered?

    Sunstrip

I haven't yet, but it's still on the list. There's a local vinyl company that do them, so I was probably going to get them to do it. That would be external I guess.

    Bad drive shaft or bearing?

Thanks for the replies. The scratchy grinding noise is actually more like a metallic buzzing sound, or rapid rattling. I don't know if that's any more familiar to anyone.

    Bad drive shaft or bearing?

Whilst changing my brakes, my mechanic noticed play in the drivers side front wheel. With the ax jacked up it could wobble slightly. We fit a new bearing and the wobble has gone away. A few days later the car developed a slight scratchy grinding noise, generated by something spinning. A bit...

    Regrets!?? Wishes?? Opinions!?

I could only advise getting a garage to give it a good going over and see what bushings etc are worn, and aiming to replace those. Also give it's oils, fluids, filters and plugs a change. I've had mine a year and i'm currently in the process of doing this. It's only on about 85k miles, but it's...

    What tyres to go for!??

Someone mentioned Uniroyal Rainsports, which is a good shout. I had Rainsport 1 or 2 though, which were a great all year tyre. Coped perfectly well in the hot and dry, but really excelled in wet and even coped with a bit of snow. Probably not a tyre you'd want to take to the track, but a good...
