Another HID Headlight Problem

On Monday night coming home from work, noticed that N/S H/light was out.

Ive done a few searches to see what it could be including bulb, power pack etc.

When checking it, it flickers on for a fraction of a second then off followed by a whining noise from the power pack.

Any suggestions??

I did wash the car Sunday.

If it is the power pack - does anyone have one going for cheap??

may be worth taking the bumper off and doing a bit of willy nilly bit swapping to identify which bit is broken,
if power pack gets wet it can stop working but dry it out and it comes back (sometimes), thought it would be dry by now though given the weather :?

This is exactly what I had, and it turned out to be a dodgy connection to the back of the bulb coupled with a blown power pack, had to salvage whole headlight and pack from another car, luckily under warranty from Torque Imports.

how to remove bumper

http://performance.clubrsx.com/prsxhidinstall.html

found with the magic search function  :D

upto step 4 to get the bumper off, the ones it talks about in step four are 8mm which you'll need either a deep socket or extension, they are right at the top of the bumper in the wheel arch and secure it to the wing, the six clips underneath (if you still have all six!) 2 of them are 10mm bolts, two clips are easilt gettable and the other two are a right pig, under the lip were the underside of the bumper meets the inner wheel arch lining, the four screws (2 on each side) hold the splash guard in place underneath, make sure to remember which way round the two bits of the splash guard go
