Anybody knowledgeable on mapping?

I recently had my car re-mapped (k100) at a respected place... It made great power but isn't quite running 100% since.
The car had a few good modifications fitted the same day.

The problem is almost random juddering / kangarooing in random gears at random speeds. It only happens when you're maintaining speed. Runs nice and smooth when accelerating / decelerating otherwise.

The garage told me the TPS sensor threw up an error before mapping but it cleared and reset during mapping.
I've since had a K-tuned TPS fitted and calibrated, but the problem is still there.

Is it possible the map is causing this? Also sometimes when going from 1st, to reverse and back a few times (parking etc) the revs drop real low and sometimes the car stalls.
Help!

I'm guessing it wasn't acting like this before the bolt ons and mapping, so they fitted them and mapped it, they need to fix it, just go back to them. Even if someone here could help they wouldn't be able to as you cant pull any datalogs or copy the map and send it to someone due to it being a K100.

So it is possible the map would cause these problems?

It had jerkyness when taking your foot off the pedal usually worst in 1st and 2nd, but I was reassured by several owners theirs did the same.
It never dropped revs to stall, or shrugged at 60mph etc

The 'bolt on's' consisted mainly of a JRSC...... oops.....

Oh well in that case i might oopsadentally install some ITB's!

Sounds to me like they might not have done your part throttle mapping ?

Could try turning ODBII function off in K100 and see if it fixes the problem. These ECUs are made for racing/off road use so problems like these can creep up every now and then on odd cars.

Okay I've had a quick chat with the specialist who fitted the TPS.

The original problem of random juddering and stalling has been fixed... However......

The throttle is either ON or OFF, nothing smooth inbetween. If you're on the motorway, pull your foot off to slow down you really feel it!
He said the TPS is properly calibrated and check it for me. He said he thinks the problem lies with the map being done on a faulty TPS, could this be the case?
Ie I need to get the map tweaked to suit the correct TPS?

Endless Horizon fitted the TPS. He said he couldn't do it through his laptop because I have k100 not Pro, ended up doing it with a voltmeter

Romain did. He got really good power out of it but just a few niggles it's picked up

Sounds like fuel overrun cutoff delay has been disabled. With it enabled the injectors fire for 0.5s when the throttle is closed to make it a smoother transition. have tested mine with it disabled and it is a sudden shutdown of the injectors and causes a jerk.

That could be one possibility.

I'll give TGM / Romain a ring in the new year. It died at a roundabout yesterday revs seemed to just drop off for some reason was a little annoying.

Tan, it made 270 at the wheels, on a OEM manifold and a mugen twinloop!
Really need to get myself a Tegiwa-toda ordered just been too busy :(

Have you fitted an auto tensioner to your jrsc?
You should get one, you won't get as much belt slip.
Harder engine mounts are needed too!
I had mine mapped at eurospec when another tuner looked at the map they say the map was very rich

Kazmo, everyone is entitled to their opinion, i have seen maps from most companies that could be better including Romain and Tdi,

alot of the time you dont get the full story about what happened on the day, for example, the guy might have said "just do a quick map " and was planning to go back at a later day etc. this happens alot, the car gets moved on then the poor guy who mapped it is branded useless because he didnt do it as good as it could have been.
or the car gets changed and the map doesnt.
