Last year iwas was looking for a good garage to service my ITR, i saw a post on the teg (DC2) forum recommending :-

after my first couple of vists to Des ( who goes on with spiel like hes a geniue guy and always does good job) he mentioned he had been unfairly critised on the itr forum and even asked me to clear his name for bad press he had received, unfortunately after id seen the 1st post recommendng him ! ), I then contacted him to do couple jobs on my teg and MOT it. He had my Teg and lent me mk2 CRX to use whilst he had it. I was chuffed as i used to own an EF8 . However, the brakes were totally shot and suspension niknak, and pretty badly rusted. I asked him about the bougus EK9 CTR caper previous mentioned on the ITR forum, and he blamed everyone but himself. I did think a specialist like him should know the difference between a VTI & TYPE R !
Anyway, after chasing him for costs after numberous times , we agreed i could pick up my car during my luchtime time and call him that evening to pay on my girlfriends credit card (which we had done previously successfully although i never received my invoice - more on that in abit ). He`d had my teg nearly two weeks so i was pretty happy to be getting it back ( id given it him end of NOV and it was now Dec). I only had 5 mins to pick it up, and the first thing he said was "your clutch is gone! " i replied it was brand new ACT clutch uprated to 240lb, and had done only about 6k miles". To which, he immediately replied "i have`nt been racing it " (which rang alarms bells). Anyway i had to get back to work so i said i would call him later. When i got to work, i noticed some white paint like finger marks on my Teg, so checked it over and found a scrape on the f/o/s bumper !!! which had obvious just had a piant "touch up"" ! So after work i rang him, and it went to voicemail. I was fuming ... as you can imagine ... so left a heated message that he had bumped my car and damaged clutch, and would call him again tomorrow to discuss and make payment. At which point i threw my phone accross the room. Before bed went to switch it off and found it already off , so turned it on only to find message from Des stating HE HAS NOT BUMPED MY CAR, he is not a liar, he is genuine blah blah blah and if i dont pay he will go to police ! at no time did i say i would not pay him. So next day rang him, at which point he tried to talk over me...after raising my voice he finally agreed HE HAD LIED!!!! and had scrape my bumper when reversing into his garage, and that he would knock price of repairs off the bill and have a look at clutch for me foc . I naturally declined, passed the phone to my GF who paid him on her credit card, she then passed phone back to me saying Des wanted a word. At which point he told me he,d charged me an extra £30 as he forgot something to include. I told him to post my invoices and we`d leave at that.
I then chased him on a few occasion for my invoices, only to be told hes really busy and he wont forget. Eventually, it became apparent that i would have to go see him. So rang him, advised ive drawn a line on whats happened in past, and could he top up my oil. So went to see him, got he to do work, which he charged £10 more than was agreed. I previously asked him to make sure all my invoices were ready for collection. Only to be told hed left his invoice pad at home and would get them to me by the end of the week. That week came and went, so rang him again, only to be told his computer was down but would definately get them to me by weekend. At which point i lost it, told him i would report him to trading standards if i did not receive them and would go back on forum and air my story ! He then left a message on my voice mail saying hes not scared of me ! so there it is... he is UNPROFESSIONAL, A LIAR AND A CHEAT - AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!
