BANZAICLUB NEWSLETTER

January 2007
Welcome to the New Year
We would like to wish all of our members a very warm welcome to 2007, we hope the festive season has been good to you all and everyone has now recovered from any over indulgence. We appreciate your continued support and have many exciting new developments and events to look forward to in the forth coming year.

BanzaiClub promotion
The admin team would greatly appreciate members continued involvement in promoting the club, especially when attending local meets and national events. Flyers are available for downloading, Banzai cards are available upon request and we have a variety of Banzai stickers that can be purchased on the site. Links for all of these can be found below.

New Features
A number of new features came on line in December, the most popular being the introduction of the Arcade which is being continually updated with new games. BanzaiClub would like to take this opportunity to add a disclaimer - We cannot be held responsible for the sharp drop in productivity levels of some of our members at their places of employment or for any of our members’ relationships which have suffered from the sudden compulsion for trophies lol!!!

In the interest of fairness and following much heartache from Mista Bushi who is the current Tetris arcade leader, the Admin team have decided that the Arcade scores will be re-set on a monthly basis. A thread will be dedicated to the winners of the month in the non car chat section. Please note the scores will be re-set from the beginning of each month.

The Garage has continued to grow and now contains 123 vehicles which have had 432 modifications between them. Members are encouraged to add their cars following the instructions in the link below, and also leave feedback for other members. Registering your car will also qualify your vehicle for entry in the best car of the month competition, see the competitions section below for further details

Following on from the Ask a Policeman section launched on 2nd December (and kind support offered by our fellow member and Traffic Officer Stevie Pat), a new section was launched on the 2nd January with kind co-operation from Dan at Adrian Flux insurance where all insurance related questions can be directed, we hope members will find this new forum beneficial.

Members co-operation is also required in the development of the Banzaiclub My Space page, please see the link below to Club Announcements where you can include your name if you'd like your car featured. If your car is to be featured, can you please PM Fairladyzxgirl and she'll happily provide you with an e-mail address to enable you to send a picture of your car (including yourself if you want to be famous lol) and a few details of the cars spec to be uploaded into My Space. Please note we would prefer pictures with the car registration numbers blanked out.

We are also in the process of setting up an on-line merchandise shop, some merchandise can already be purchased on the site (for example stickers) however the shop will bring it all together in one place and include ranges such as clothing, keyrings, mousemats and stickers, with more products to come. Member feedback on any items they would like to see stocked in the forthcoming shop would be appreciated. There are a number of various other proposals for future developments in the pipeline, once arrangements are in place members will be kept up to date at all times.

Planning is well underway for a coast to coast run to raise funds for the air ambulance service. Due to logistics this is a joint venture withother clubsand has required inter county co-operation between 5 police forces and 3 air ambulance counties. Full details will be posted in the near future once the event is finalised.

The Admin team would like to extend a warm welcome to Autotorque (Jay), fairladyzxgirl (Saz) and Starlet.3SGTE (Dan) who all recently joined us and are already proving to be valued members of the team.

Competitions
Firstly well done to member L14MO for winning the design a Christmas banner competition, check out the Club Announcements section for details of the monthly banner competition, where the winning banner was featured on the site.

Car of the Month Competition

A new competition is being launched from 3rd Jan 2007 for cars in the Garage, this will be a monthly competition called "Best car of the month" (original name we know lol, feel free to suggest alternatives) whereby members will vote for a shortlist of ten of their favourite cars, then a member poll will be conducted to decide on a winner. Please check out the Club Announcements section for full details, the member who owns the winning vehicle will receive a trophy and their car will be our feature car of the month and with the owner’s permission will feature in the BanzaiClub 2008 calendar.

Competitions in the pipeline include best Project (so keep posting your Projects progress as we already have some fantastic contenders) and 1/4 mile best times.

Feedback
We would appreciate your feedback on BanzaiClub in our feedback section to keep abreast of any issues and to give us a feel for what’s good and bad. All comments and remarks are taken on board and worked towards bringing members what they need. Latest feedback shows a desire for more car related chat and more frequent updates on BanzaiClub events, these are currently being addressed as a matter of priority.

Finally, we would like to wish all our members all the very best for 2007 and for anyone who has any cash left following the festive season why not check out some of the hot deals on offer from our club Traders. Kerbside Motors 99p auctions are certainly worth a look.
