Changing pre face lift grill to face lift grill

Ive been doing a search all over the internet and have only found a couple of people with the same questions but no answer.

How do you modify the front grill (pre face) to the face lift front grill?

Ive spoken to someone down at TGM who are known to deal with DC5's and modifying them and even they aren't sure whether it is possible.

However i've come across this link which shows a preface DC5 with all OEM headlights still in place WITH a face lift front grill so it is possible!!!

That looks like a modified RSX.

I would say that they have got the two bumpers and blended them together. Looks really good though. Certainly would be a 'one off'

i reckon the bumper was reshaped. the grill and the bumper are different parts. so say you remove the black grill part and front h, you'll be left with the with the sort of blade.
you can see in this picture what has to be removed

if you cut along the line going under the badge and smoothed off to shape.
only way i think it could work.
see can you get a bumper that is unfixable and try it and see does it work before chancing it on your bumper

there was a c/w dc5 for sale on pistonheads and maybe on here a while back that had the grill part of bumper(bit that holds honda badge) done black and that looked fairly good

I was about to say Paul...

A few years ago, I painted the centre of my grille and badge surround black to imitate the facelift.
Exactly like the car in the PH ad, I have a feeling that may even be my old car!!

It does look fairly good..when i seen i was tempted might get it done when my bumpers due a paint.
