dash board mod

Hi, has anybody taken the gauges out i.e. speedo, rev counter, fuel or temp?? do the silver dials come through the back black panel as I have chrome dial rings and not sure if I can fit them as it looks like the back panel goes behind the silver face. hi i've taken the dials out my car before and the silver bit is attached to the black i part i think didn't see anyways of seperating them.other people may say different.
