Hi,

Just took the car in for an MOT and it failed emissions due to the cat having failed.

Can anyone recommend what my options are to replace the cat?

The car is stock at the moment.

Thanks

Mike

Any decent custom exhaust place will weld you a new one in.

Or any EP3 after market replacement will also be ok.

My preference would be to replace the manifold and find friendly MOT tester. Many will ‘swap’ it over for beer money every year.

Ok thanks for that, is the CAT on a DC5 manifold mounted or pipe?

Time to get an aftermarket cat. Since you are running a stock ecu, there is no point upgrading to a full race header. The jdm DC5-R header is not a bad option for stock, one of the better oem headers. Would you happen to know anyone selling an extra 01-04 front brake duct kit or just partials? Are there junkyards in Europe that would might have wrecked DC5-R's, so I can source a front clip or the brake kit itself?
