Hi all,

Tomorrow I'll be picking up my first ever DC5 which is a Type S... yes, I realise it's not the same as a Type R but it's perfect for what I need and I feel like a kid on Christmas eve!

Does anyone have any pointers for a newbie like me? Advice on maintenance, where to get parts, best (simple & inexpensive) modifications etc...

I'd greatly appreciate your input and advice on anything you deem to be useful!

Nice one mate! Hope you're happy with it. Maintenance just find a good garage or use a Honda specialist such as TGM, Performance Autoworks, Grinspeed or Area Motorsport. For parts call Steels Honda and ask for Dave, really helpful. Check your oil every few weeks. If it's got crap tyres ditch them for some decent rubber such as AD08R, RE07O or Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. I'd recommend upgrading the pads to a fast road pad such as PBS or Hawk HP+ or Carbon Lorraine. Apart from that enjoy the car.

To be honest there isn't anything special to know or do. It's like any car, just keep on top of maintenance and it'll be fine. A few common faults like leaky rear light seals but that's about it. I have owned a 2005 civic type s in the past which is very similar to your integra in regards to the brakes and engine. I'd say don't worry about getting any fast road pads for it, the stock brakes will be fine. As crazylegs says, decent tyres are a must just like any car really. I wouldn't get too hung up on which garage you use,if you have a garage you already know are good and trust they will be more than capable of looking after your integra.
As for parts, try and get in with your local honda dealer. They can get any parts you need and will often give discounts if they know you. Also if you get things ordered to your garage that can save money for you too.

Where are you based?

Thanks for the advice gents, it sounds like being an Integra owner is gonna be a breeze... to be honest, most cars seem reliable after owning an Alfa GT!

I'm based in Sheffield but I don't mind travelling a little further afield if necessary.
