I have a DC5 that we have imported for a customer, but we are having problems SVA'ing the car due to the HID headlights. Does anyone no how to get them through the SVA test?

Regards

Andrew,

You need to disconnect the HID's to get the car thru the SVA and then reconnect them after. HID's are not allowed for SVA i'm afraid....

Yeah, I understand that, but you must have headlights. Do you re wire the headlights? How do you get a beam pattern etc?
Is it possible to put in H1 bulbs, making up a little wiring harness and relay for it?

Another way, would be to buy a set of Non HID lights from Japan, as lower spec cars don't have HID lights, but then again the wiring will be a little different :!: :!:

Good luck

Sorry can't be more help

That's what I just said. :p

The wiring shouldn't be a problem to make up. Find the relay that controls the HID bulbs and use the relay that is used on the non-HID lamps. The wiring should be easy!

Hi Rob,

HID lights are an option in Japan, but most cars appear to have them fitted  I would not buy a DC5 without them, they are just so much better

They are standard, but a deletable option in Japan. Save a few bob, but i wouldn't buy it without them!
