here goes!

step 1.

IGNITION OFF
you need to get to the fuse box inside the car, do this by removing the plastic drivers footwell cover and plastic cover below the steering wheel

2.
i found it easier to get access to the fuse box by removing the gold coloured screw and gently slide the fuse box down

3. in the fusebox above the fuses and small black relays is a yellow block, this block is not actually connected to anything, just inserted inside the fuse box in a blanking piece, pull this out...

4. making sure the ignition is still off connect the block end of the tool pictured below, (alternatively you can bridge it with a bit of cable) onto the yellow block, you will need to be able to reach this and also watch the srs light on the dash

turn IGNITION ON, the srs light will come on for approx 6 seconds, once it goes out you must remove the connector within 4 seconds. the srs light will come back on, re-connect the block again within 4 seconds, the srs light will go off, remove the block within 4 seconds.
teh srs indicator will then flash twice, indicating the fault code has been erased, turn the IGNITION OFF and leave for 10 seconds before turning the IGNITION ON to make sure the srs light comes on and goes off as normal.

basically you need to remove and replace the connector a total of two times each, within 4 seconds of the light coming on/going off.

this took me about 10 minutes to do, and three attempts at getting the block off and on within the 4 seconds.

if you have any problems getting the connector block let me know and i'll send the one i have to you, all i ask is you return it so others may use it.

ive taken the pics off and left the links to them as they were a bit BIG and slow to appear!

Brilliant guide mike, unfortunately the links to the picture don't seem to be working now, any chance you can rehost them if you still have them

If you disconnected the battery first would this still be necessary???

I notice that the link is there on the yellow connector in my fuse box, will this be rendering the SRS in active??

should be ok if you disconnect the battery first

the yellow connector in the fuse box wont make it inactive, its merely there as a way of removing any stored fault codes in the srs system and as such resetting teh srs light on the dash

Cheers mate. Personnally i would always disconnect the battery first although it wipes all the settings from me head unit. Seeing what a pain it is to reset the SRS (its bloody tight under that dash) i think it is defo the best thing to do.

reset it again, just used a bit of wire, easy to reset. not really driven it today but i had the engine running, turned the wheel to full lock both ways, seemed fine. the only thing i can thing i've done is moved the fuse box but that was to reset the srs light the first time and mess around with the lighter socket in the car, wiring in a sat nav. going to the ring in the next couple of weeks so would like a little re-assurance that the airbag will work (if needs be)!!

Awesome guide, worked first time

Used 2 split pins opened out inserted one in each terminal, then jus pressed together and let go as per instructions and hey presto, using the split pins enables you to do this with and be able to see the dash at the same time :)
