Hey all,

I will start from scratch. Had the car three months, no problems with any light/s and washed once a week.

I washed it 2 weeks ago and had some condensation in the o/f light, but all lights were working fine. Condensation cleared up quickly. But then the HID and Full Beam stopped working.

The n/s lights were working fine. Side lights and indicators worked fine on both o/s and n/s lights.

Now the problem was the when switching the lights on the HID light would flicker, like it was trying to come on but no have enough power, it would flicker then shutdown. Same for the main beam.

So i didnt wash it since and just havent had the time to take the lights out to check everything.

I had it booked in on thursday but couldnt get out of work. I had 2 hours spare this morning, and it needed a wash so i did so.

Went to leave the office not long ago and the same has happened to the other light!

I do not use a jet wash, i have not washed the engine bay etc.

I believe the so called "power pack" which doesnt give any power to the light directly, but restricts power to the HID could be at fault as Dave @ Steels said they are not water tight?

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem?

Im taking it to the garage first thing tomorrow.

Cheers
Jay

i take it by the power pack you mean the ballast that is secured underneath the headlight itself??

i remember when i took mine out to fit the angel eyes headlight that the ballast did look a little 'worn' with bits of rust on them, i believe these are are as hard to get hold off as the headlights themselves, and almost as expensive!

check the fuses first off then cross your fingers!!

just in case a set of angel eyes inc shipping will set you back around £130-£150 from usa via ebay

cheers mike, dave did say im looking at 191+vat for the power pack, each. :(

will get confirmation of this tomorrow. maybe someone will have then in a scrappy? but they could be knackard too :(

i take it these angel eyes are not HID lights? have you any pictures mike? i do like the oem lights but if its better in the long run and more reliable then i guess its worth it.

Thanks
Jay

I have a passenger side HID power pack up for grabs if you end up needing it. :D It has no rust or anything on it, and worked fine last time I checked, but I could hook it into the loom in my car and confirm whether it is still OK.

Let me know if you need it.
Cheers

I had this problem as have others with the HID pack. They arent water tight and Honda are aware of the problem but will not fix it under warrenty. I managed to source a unit 2nd hand for about £70 and fixed it myself. To stop it happening again i placed sealent around the outside. So the bad news; they are expensive to buy, the good news they are easy to fit yourself and cheap if you can source a 2nd hand one. Hope this helps.

the angel eyes arent HIDS arent deffo arent as bright, seeing as they come from usa you haev to adjust the beam, left and right is easy enough when they arent fitted, but impossible when they are!

this pic shows them on the car, (not the best ones ihave, but the ones i still have hosted) and tbh i prefer the look of them, you can get them with the black backing or a silver one, but in the main they take out the yellow reflector too!

once fitted and properly aligned ive not had any issue with them, got them nearly a year ago, and the bulbs are your normal everyday ones too

wooohooo i got it fixed this morning!!

dropped it of at AUTOLEC, lecci specialists. They took the blubs out and found a problem with a blown fuse and a cracked casing one of the HID's. The fuse and casing was replaced.

When i went to pick it up we couldnt get the blubls back in, so we took of the bumper and put the blubs back in.

all sorted :D cost me £40!

Job done, :D - Power packs are in excellent condition which is good!
