Installing android auto

Hi guys,
I'm sure theres a way to do it but just abit unsure of the technical side of things.

I have a pioneer sph-da130dab stereo in my teg, it supports apple CarPlay but not android auto (dunno why!?) Didnt realise this before I bought it.
The AppRadio mode on the head unit is a pile of T**S.
Is there anyway I can get android auto on the headunit?
Hate using my phone as a satnav :/

I have the same issue as you do , i have a avh x3800dab and it has that crappy appradio mode that has no apps that anyone could use

I think the only solution is to buy a newer head unit

there might be a firmware upgrade but im not sure if that would allow it work the way that you want.

Hi.

Is it possible to blue tooth your Android smartphone to the headset. Thereby duplicating what you have on your phone, apps, music, Google maps etc.

I'm not very good at tech, this is just a suggestion.

I can pair via bluetooth no problem. I can even plug it in via USB but just no screen mirroring or android auto built into headunit

I researched that dongle and it appears to be a screen mirroring dongle that you use via the av jacks on the head unit

I've got it in my amazon basket lol. Just waiting for mr furlough haha.

Will do mate. Funny thing is im am auto electrition by trade but I haaaaaaaate doing any thing stereo related so ive always avoided it lol

Had a go at this earlier, no luck . Pioneer head unit is pile of T**S. I paid £40 for this item but cant return it.
Can have it for £25 if you want mate. I can send you the link for apk to download ro your headunit aswell

I got it for 315.
The sph230dab is just as good but has buttons. The 250 has a totally flat screen.
The 230 about 100 quid cheaper
