Hi,
Just got a quote for my new ITR. A month ago I got quoted €3900 and now my renewal is up and it has gone down to €2252 fully comp. At the moment I am insured third party fire and theft on a FTO and it is €1064.

Insurance is crazy in Ireland buy I am quite lucky as I am only 22. What are your quotes like in the UK???

yeh i was paying £1150 on my DC2 last year -22. 4 yrs no claims

will have 5 yrs no claims in November and be 23, but as you say my age is agaist me.

I take it being an Import bumps the DC5 up bit? is it still group 18?

Cheers Rob

Hi Rob

In general terms the DC5 is not on insurance companies system, However some, like Tesco, rate it at the same rate as a JDM DC2

Its worth asking when ringing around, also note that your age is not in your favour, some companies will not touch people under 30 on imports as well.

hahaha

I rang tesco's and they couldn't find the details for the exact car. The person on the other end of the line was actually very very helpful and fast in getting the reply considering that it was a sunday morning.

I was laughing at how much it could be, but the truth was coming and I didn't like it!

They would insure for but for a whopping

£3571!
:xprotest:
this was based on the older 1.8 TR and imagine it going up another 200cc!

CTR or S3 now!

Lucky sods! paid £1700 on my 106 gti a year and a half ago! and was 21. Just added £190 to my policy (till june) to insure my dc2. The cup that was insured was £1500 for the year and i was 22 with 3 yrs no claims. This summer should be ok as 4 yrs NC (hopefully!) and am 23 so fingers crossed. Rob DC2.. mind if i ask where you insured youe dc2? as that was a good quote in my eyes and i wouldnt mind being near a k with 4yrs and being 23!! End of the day the jobs fucked as so many people are claiming and scaming for all they can get the premiums are soaring like a superbikes power band! I got quotes for the pug of 5k!! Was only worth £5100 the dick turpin immitating buggers. The diesels are coming, so god help us all !!! ](*,) (so cheaper groups for the young folk, why ?when they match in some areas and cost more to buy, hence repair.).

On my DC2 (import 1998) i have paid £1300 for fully comp which i thought was quite good as i am only 22 with 1 year no claim - am 22 years old. I am female though!

Would you say this is good?

Tesco - £1400 for my DC5

I am 30, My wife is 29 I have no claims protection, 10 years NCB but I do have a total write-off against me from 1 year ago.

Some of the quotes I have seen are quite ludicrous. >£3K :?: FFS :!:
