Sorry, its me again.....Just thought I'd share some of my info......

The MUGEN airbox works best with the MUGEN front bumper because of the induction channel in the bumper...however, one thing I discovered is that if you change to a large type all aluminium radiator, this can block part of the induction channel..and with the alloy radiator dispatching so much heat all the time...I don't know....anyway, here is the link for the 5ZIGEN Feed....

Yes...J's Racing makes a 2-1 front pipe.....Also Vision and Spoon...
Either one and you do away with the CAT.....I am using the SPOON 4-2 and 2-1.....you definitely feel the gain in the top end...thats past VTEC point... but you also feel the loss in the low end....that is exit a 2nd gear corner in 3rd....say 3000 rpm....you will have to wait for the pull.....

cheers!

Yes..in HK I think the Trust E-manage is more popular than the Power FC....I know some DC5s that use them in HK...but I think the problem is still with the tuning....the know-how......The chief engineer or prgrammer of Jun Auto Mechanics comes to Hong Kong once in a while to the tuning....that is our best bet....but I still suggest...something like the MUGEN E.C.U....you don't have to touch anything hence no chance to screw it up!!

However, some of the earlier comments were right that if you change too many pieces of kit (from intake to exhaust) it will not match with the E.C.U. However, we have good connections here with SPOON and MUGEN and some info they provide for us...tells us the MUGEN airbox + Spoon 4-2, Spoon 2 -1 + MUGEN N1 exhaust system works very well...especially for top end gain....however, because the MGEN N1 is too loud, so I am using MUGEN Sport exhaust....which I find o.k....

Cheers...

The only reason I wouldnt want a Mugen ECU, is at some stage you may want to run aggresive cams, etc, so not having the flexibility to mod further.

I have always said that the place to gain power with Honda's is in the manifold, like to see one bolted on to a standard car and see the results.

Hi Jevo and Matt!!!

I am using right now the MUGEN airbox so I don't use the 5ZIGEN intake. I think it was designed for the original DC5 front bumper and airbox feed. However, I just ordered the 5ZIGEN carbon fibre front brake caliper cooling ducts...I hope they work well...they arrive soon....

Yes, I agree!! If you want to use more agressive cams in the future, you will need a fully mappable E.C.U. If that is the case, I think I will go for MOTEC which I think is better than any other Japanese programmable E.C.U.s. I think the MOTEC is more flexible and the level of fine tuning you can do is just amazing. No wonder SPOON and MUGEN only use MOTEC in their factory race cars!!!!

cheers!!

Have you found out if GTSport can ship to the UK?
I may source out a JDM 2-1 section and use Spoon 4-2 manifold for my EP3.
I dont really want to use Spoon 2-1 or J's Racing because i would still like to keep the catalyc convertor on.

Do you know anyone with a DC5 whos using a Gruppe M ram airbox?
http://www.gruppemeurope.com/

Im currently using one in my EP3 and had it dyno'd last Saturday on a VERY hot day. My EP3 produced 167.8 wheel HP and the intake temperature was lower than ambient temp which was quite amazing.
I just want to know how it'll compare to Mugen airbox.
