Newbie from HK

Hi Everyone.....I'm a newbie from Hong Kong....
I drive a 2001 LA-DC5 R Championship White.....
I also drive a Black MIT EVO TME.....

My opinion...in terms of power.....EVO rules......
in terms of handling, balance and driving pleasure....DC5-R Wins hands down!!!

These cars cannot be more different.....I love both of them!!!

Good to see a DC5 owner from HK. :wink: Do you know any other DC5 or EP3 owners in HK? I have heard of the insurance is pretty expensive in HK. Have you been to the Macau trackday this year? I have seen a EP3 and DC5 on track in Option (HK) magazine. As I know, the DC5 is quite eXclusive in HK. :roll:

Why is HK so expensive to insure a car?

The insurance for DC5 is so expensive here because of the number of thefts in HK...DC5 when it was first introduced was ranked no.1 in the type of cars stolen here. There was a point when 9 out of 10 registered DC5s were stolen...its totally outrageous!!!

So it is almost impossible to get insurance for this car in HK..even if you can get it...it is really expensive.....so now most of the people here buy the car and ship it to the Chuhai Race track in China and just leave it there for track use....

So most of the time..I just see chamionship white RSXs on the road here...dressed like Type Rs.....

So enough on insurance.....
I think to get parts and information on the DC5 is much easier in HK because we are in the close vicinity of Japan...Actually representatives from MUGEN and SPOON come to HK quite often.....

As with my car....most of it is MUGEN & SPOON products.....I will try to get some picks and post it here!!

Mean while...how do I post pics of my car?

Hey, do guys know that PROFLEX makes a suspension system for the DC5? It is absolutely amazing.....I am trying to save up the money to buy it....its like 2500 pounds sterling or something!! but they can custom build it to any spec you want!!
I am currently using the stock suspension with SWIFT low-down springs...I find the ride a bit harsh for everyday driving....to be honest I really prefer European built suspension systems..the Japanese made ones are all really harsh as the road conditions here in HK is similar to the U.K...quite rough..I'm using the Bilstein PSS9 for my EVO and they are really great....I wonder if Bilstein Europe will ever make a PSS9 system for the DC5???? :?:

wow 2500 pounds for the proflex is LOTS of money... i use Eibachs springs and whilst they lower the car other people say they are not too much harsher than std... Spoon springs lower the car even more !!!
