Non lit speedo etc

When i have got my lights on the display for the speedo, petrol etc etc doens't light up anymore. Sometime it will flash up but then just goes off again.

Its a pain as i cant see how fast i'm going etc....

When had my last service asked the garage to have a look and they said they couldn't fix the problem. :?

I have got different dials to the standard ones, and the mechanic said that the vtec controller is wired up to the back of the dials therefore this maybe the problem??
I need to get this sorted with it getting darker earlier now.

maybe you should stick with the original ones

If it's intermittent (doesn't have any pattern as to them dimming) it could just be a dodgy connection.

Have a "techie" diy fiddle wth the V-tec controllers connections.

Mite be worth giving the dimmer nob a wiggle to see if the problem lies there?... I had a similar thing in the passat, someone obviously got a little heavy handed wiv it and caused a loose connection in the switch.. :roll:

Tried that and not the prob. When first put lights on it works then after about 5 mins it just goes off or if i brake it goes off. Strange.... :?

sounds like a bad earth, have you checked out the
manual from honda hook up,
it has the circuit diagram for all the lights.
chap 20 or 22, there is a detailed index in the front
of every chapter.
the actual binnacle is fairly east to take out,
2 screws and 2 plugs.
