Rear exhaust heat shield rattle

Hi

I've a rattle at the back that I think can only really be the heat shield. Have others removed it - is it ok to do so?

Honestly if you remove it it would be very easy to buy a spray can of high temp exhaust spray and coat the area well. You can also use header wrap and wrap the exhaust piping in that area. If you really want a replacement piece source some 1/16" thick aluminum plate and form fit and drill holes to re-use the mounting hole locations.
