I've just got pictures through of my DC5.

It seems to have been fitted with a rear fog light on the right hand side of the rear bumper. Does anyone know if this is a requirement for SVA approval.

sadly yes it is a requirement to have a rear fog light fitted for SVA... but the good news is there are better ways of doing it once you are through the SVA...

My car now has one of the rear reversing lights wired up as the rear fog with a red bulb in... looks much tidier than a dodgy fog light hanging below the rear bumper..

Jevo,

That sounds like a good solution. Unfortunately the fog that has been fitted is one of the kits that needs a hole cut in the bumper (similar to the DC2 fog light)

I spoke to the dealer today and he said that, for the age of the car, it is now illegal to hang a fog light of the botton of the rear bumper for the SVA test. So now they fit one into the bumper on all imported cars.

It doesn't look that bad but I would have preferred not have the hole cut in the bumper.

I find it very hard to believe that they now have to fit a fog light into the bumpers on all cars.. imagine all the scoobs and evo's that are currently imported that would need the bumper cut.. looks messy too i think... i would question your dealer and ring a few other importers and see what they say...

Have a look in the gallery of www.itr-dc5.co.uk and you'll see some of the cars with the fog light hung below the rear bumper... never seen one with a cut rear bumper yet...

Hi m8,

Very nice car m8, can i ask whom you buying from?

Its a shame they have cut into the rear bumper, it spoils the lines!!

Bad timing or what, I'm away to Italy for three weeks with the wife to be, (Shes expecting a sensible car to replace the DC2!!!), so I won't get the car till the end of the month.

Anyway good driving guys, see you later
