I have just bought a facelift type r and the guy said the switch in the dash is for the rear fog light but it doesnt do anything. I was just wondering how do we go about changing one of the reverse lights to a fog light how has everyone else done it?
Are you in the UK?
If so firstly check the drivers rear reverse light when turning that switch on, generally as Japanese cars do not have fog lights the drivers rear reverse light will be fitted with a red bulb to work as the fog light and so once you flick the switch that light should activate and when putting the car in reverse only 1 x light will come on (passengers side reverse light), this is as fog lights are placed on the driver's side or in the middle of the vehicle.
The only other alternative is the ones which are cut into the bumper or bolted behind/to the bumper and hang down.
If the above (drivers reverse light has not been split from the reverse setup and does not function by that switch) you will need to check both the fuses and the back of the switch for the wires to be connected/working, follow the wires and check the rear light loom for these to be connected and then check the rear bulb has been changed to a red one as if its clear still then it wont be a fog light bulb.
If it's not been done right then you will need to run wires from the mentioned light connection to a switch and done.
