I use Cartek in East Kilbride - couple of ex main dealer Honda mechanics set up privately now - very good.

If you want a main dealer then Pheonix Honda in Stirling have done a fair bit of work on DC5's.

Park's Honda in Hamilton, not only does the parts advisor own a DC5 but so does one of the technicians and we've had a certain supercharged DC5 in too.

Lynsey, was over at your place the other day for a water outlet assembly, your service manager was most helpful i have to say, very interested and seems to know a bit about the type R. Also spoke to the mechanic(greame) i think, the fella who owns the DC5. He gave me a full run down on the fitting, and if i had any probs, just to give him a call.
Thought that was pretty decent of him, as most garages dont want to know you if you aint crossing there palms with cash. I did quote your name though, so that may have helped.
If you see him let him know the fitting went okay, took me a half hour, although my engine management light came on briefly for around 10 minutes  , and tell him thanks.
Think i know where i will be going for my next service .

Ive used them a few times as im local, generally on my dc2. put it in for a check, it was over heating and i was in a hurry to get it checked before i went on hols. Obvoiusly when i asked them to check it i thought it might have been the thermostate or fan switch.

The result was they never realy checked it saw there was water missing n said it must be my head gasket or something and to do a head gasket it would be 600 - 800 to fix and they didnt know if that would definately solve the problem. :( :(
i then asked if they checked the thermostate and he said its not a comon fault and very rairly go!! :?
I then went away in the car as my dad is a mechanic but was on hol.
Waited a week n a half for pops to get hme and bought a thermostate which we fitted and ran like a dream!!
The guy ended up refunding my money for the check after several phone calls and him never taking the call or phoning me back!!
Well that was a bit of a saga!!!
Im reluctant about putting it in there even for a service and was looking for a reliable place.
Just though i would share that!!
hope it doesnt put you off!!
Where you stay in scotland?

ps thats Pheonix Honda!!! Linwood!!

stay in greenock and work in erskine so linwood would have been ideal but maybe not after your experience....

have you used any of the glasgow ones ?

won't have to service it for a while after I get it as andy @ 200bhp does one before collection... so its just for reference at the moment.

cheers....
