Regular Garage, Clutch Change?

Due to one thing or another, plus CV19, I can't travel to a specialist at the moment, most specialists are a few hours away. I know a local, trusted, garage that I am thinking about approaching.

Am I right in thinking this should be a fairly easy job for them, the same as an EP/FN Civic?

I have an OEM clutch kit consisting of; pressure plate, cover, and clutch release bearing. I also have an "Ultra Lightweight" flywheel made by Competition Clutch.

Additionally, please let me know if there will be an additional bolts or gaskets, clutch fluid they will need but possibly won't have in stock?

Thanks
Mike

Any decent garage with decent mechanics could do it. Most on here do it themselves on their drives, I wouldn't personally as I don't have the patience but honestly there is nothing special about these cars at all, they are very basic machines and pretty much anything can be done on them by any garage out there.

People only use certain garages to keep the history in place with known garages tbh

You'll probably find specialists will price a clutch job cheaper than your typical garage as they know the process.

It's a pretty shit job to be honest removing the box on these. Subframe has to come off, inlet support bracket needs removing, your knock sensor will probably take a whack.

Only thing I'd say is just make sure they put MTF3 back in it haha.

Cheers Carl! I thought as much.

Yeah to be honest I haven't got the time and can't be bothered right now.

Sams right, it's a pain taking off the subframe etc. Just takes so much more time.

I changed the clutch on a mates FN2 a month ago and it was a piece of cake in comparison!

No problem, if you know the garage and they are reputable the odds are they will do it for a good price and not try and rip you off.

I couldn't be bothered to to my rack slider so took it to a garage locally that my friend knows and they did it for me for £50 all in, luckily these come with the status of a relatively normal car, not like driving in with a supercar where they will try and rip you off. The alternative is a local Honda dealer, if there is one nearby.

Might be worth getting the clutch fluid changed at the same time, seeing as they’re in the vicinity already!

Good idea.

So I need to get 2 liters of MTF3 and some clutch fluid? Any recommendations?

Thanks everyone!
