Slight "knocking"....

Hi there,

Having drven my car for a few days I have noticed that when the car is cold - for the first few 3-5 miles - there is a slight knocking noise coming from the right hand side suspension when I go over bumps. The noise only happens when the steering is pointed either straight ahead or slightly to the left.

After about 3-5 miles the noise subsides and all seems well. I was wondering if anybody else had had of has heard of anything similar on the DC-5 and what it might be.

Any information would be most apreciated!

Gary.

mmm not noticed anything on mine.. but after 3-5 miles the car is pretty well warmed up (if you go by the temp gauge) so it maybe just something that expands when its warm and thus the noise goes...

Have you tried bouncing the suspension to see if its drive or suspension ?

Thanks for the reply,

Yeah, I thought it might just be something that just gets better once it warms up - if it was both sides I would not have even thought about it...

I did "try" and bounce the suspension, but it's a little firm to get any movement :p (I tried my best!)

I'm hoping that it's nothing serious - I would guess not, but just wanted to know if anybody else has had the same thing. I'm a worry guts at heart!

GTI,

Always worth getting knocks checked out... if your near to Hereford pop in to Steels Honda or down to Powerstation in Cheltenham and get them to check it...

Will Do, got the car from Ian Litchfield anyway so I'll pop back there asap. Also, the noise is becoming more evident when the car is warm now, good for diagnosis I guess...
