Please see attached a video I found on youtube. This guy is great to learn stuff off.

https://youtu.be/x-FMYO2UhM8

I jacked the car up
Put a big sheet down (cardboard will do)
Put pan underneath gearbox
Removed fill bolt (about 6" - 8" above drain bolt)
Took drain bolt out
Jacked car back down
Let drain for 15 mins
Put drain bolt back in
Put oil in syringe.
Got under car (not jacked up)
(Keep tray underneath)
Syringed oil into fill bolt hole
Put fill bolt back in
Tidied up

Was planning this job in the very near future. Your summary seems pretty accurate :)
The video is useful too, but I think a couple of useful points could be added:
1) I believe both drain and fill bolts can be accessed from the passenger side wheel arch (I'll confirm and add pictures when I get round to doing this)
2) Probably common knowledge but always loosen the fill bolt first ;)
3) Again, probably also common knowledge, but always refill with the car perfectly level

Will report back if there's anything else I've missed.

When I do mine I fill from the engine bay with the car on the floor, remove your intake and the fill hole is easily accessible. Fill until it starts to come back out
