Hi there, I'm from Canada owning the less-impressive RSX Type S (DC5). I'm now trying to do convert the Brembo Brakes on the DC5R to my Type S but I need to get wheel hubs and the lower control arm to make it work. So far I got the wheel hubs and I'm still looking for the lower control arm. I tried as many places in US as possible but they are either too expensive at US$550 for the front or they are out of stock. Can anyone please help me find the aluminum lower control arms in the UK at the price range from US$200-$300 (used is ok)?

By the way I think this web site looks great and the graphics is superb, however the message board is less interactive and not too many posts. For comparison, you can take a look at the US RSX website www.clubrsx.com They don't have graphics as nice as ITR Owner Web Site, but their forum has thousands of message exchanged per day, and there are so many knowledge to be learned.

Finally, I don't think the web master should take "The fastest FF in the world" too seriously because there are far too many great FF on this planet. To name a few, consider the Peugeot 306 which had defeated CTR or ITR many times in ASIA races. And then there is the great Alfa Romeo 147 GTA which has 250HP from a 3.2L V6 engine with a musical note at high-rev.

Not that I try to make Honda look bad, but we Honda lovers should not always be too happy with your 220 HP engine (200HP in mine). Luckily, as a Honda owner we are always happy with so many aftermarket supply in the industry, both from Japan and US. Take a look at this aftermarket tuner:
http://www.vtec.net/articles/view-article?article_id=101836
This company called HyTech made a engine kit for the Integra which produced 320HP and 220lb/ft at the crank at 10000rpm while maintaing naturally aspirated at 2.0L with normal gasoline at 91 octane. Aren't we happy to be a Integra owner?

Matt,

Is tha part you are looking for the std DC5 Front Lower Control arm ??

As for the message board being lacking in posts.. there are probably only 30-40 Integra Type R DC5's in the UK as they are grey imports... now assume only half of those people access the web and half again post.. then you can see why the msg board is not as busy.. over time i am sure it will grow as more DC5's are imported...

Thanks for the engine tip.. in the UK again we only really get the bolt on Japanese goodies.. though more is filtering through.. thanksfully

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the UK ITR-DC5 website! Thanks for your message and comments from Canada. I hope you didn't take it too serious about the ITR DC5 Type R as "the fastest FF car in the world" in the website. It's quoted by Honda that tested the factory (standard spec) ITR and compared to other factory (standard spec) FF cars on the track against lap times when the Integra Type R - DC5 was first released in Japan.

As Jason said, the lack of posts on the message board reflects the rare numbers of DC5 Type R owners in UK; I believe that is due to the import complexity (warranty, loan finance, delivery time, etc) into UK that bothers many people who really wants to own one, as DC5 Type R and regular DC5 (non type S and type-S) are not sold in UK local dealers. Many people however end up getting a Euro-spec Civic Type-R as they believe the two Type-R are about the same (same engine 2.0L, made by Honda).

I'm happy with my car not because it has 220hp engine, what attractive to me is to buy this car at a reasonable price that comes with the superb handing and braking, economical running cost, reliable engine and overall design of the car. I love cornering more than competing in drag racing so I'm not too concerned of the extra over-standard power, until I have better skills to make use of every bit of the standard horsepower on the track.

As for the front lower control arm, you can take a look at the Mugen and Buddy club website. I think it's a bit difficult to find an used one in UK as again there are not many DC5 in UK as Jason mentioned earlier.

Cheers
Andre

Hi guys, sorry for accusing the lack of post. I never imagined ITR is not officially sold by Honda England. Since i heard the CTR is assembled in England I assumed CTR will also be sold in UK. Then I further assumed since CTR is available in UK so will the ITR. Bad assumption!

I very much agree with you (Andre) about the preferrence on ITR to CTR. I think CTR can indeed surpass ITR performance wise, but it will never look as sexy as the ITR. In fact, I think our DC5 is the best looking Integra ever. Period! The CTR looks like a small size mini-van (e.g. Honda Stream) to me.

About the "fastest FF car in the world" slogan, I was only trying to let more people know about other good FF cars in the world. Apparently I'm too fed up with FR people telling me how inferior my FF DC5 is. But I really think Honda did a great job trying to make the best out of the FF layout to produce a kick-ass car for us, so did other manufacturers. Moreover, we're not talking about 400HP in a FF car, our car definitely can handle 220 HP with the FF chasis. Proven race history in US SCCA World Challenge series (www.world-challenge.com) also showed that Honda FF cars beat BMW FR (3-series) cars for at least 5 years now.

About the front lower control arm, I'm looking for the aluminum ones who are exclusively installed on the ITR. I'm still looking for a place with good price (I've already spent to much on other mods) and I know I'm probably limited to used one. Anyway I'll keep trying my best to find one.

As a foreign visitor to this web site, I sincerely invite all of you to visit the US RSX web site (www.clubrsx.com) , where you can find many knowledgeable and intelligent rsx owners exchanging ideas about modification information and product opinion. And finally, let me show you most of the body kit available in US for the RSX.

Hello mate .. yes you are right the CTR is made and sold here in the UK but the DC5 isn't  But on a good note that means people like us are the only few that have them in the UK so that is great

And they are changing the Import laws I believe in August so then I am guessing they won't be many in the UK at all....

I have been looking at your body kits... I have the buddy 1 body kit on my car... it was already on when I bought the car... I like the rear not 100% keen on the front .. I don't like the two air ducts at the front... but I wanted a body kit on mine to be a little different than the normal DC5, plus I think mine will be the ONLY DC5 in the UK with a body kit .. so cool....

As soon as I get my hands on it (July 1st) I will be sticking some pictures up of it in the Gal.
