I know most will say try the specialists listed here but I‘m trying to get a feel on what‘s out there online; so which places recognises and quotes on the DC5?

Thanks

Don't even bother. Will achieve precisely nothing (especially if your modified) mainstream insurers don't have a foggiest what they're doing with Imports. If you want to get a feel PM Neil at Greenlight to give you an estimate.

If you go online it'll come up as a DC2. The DC5 isn't on our insurance database.

mine's through Admiral. They recognise DC5's
Now that is a lie!

Edit: I know the recognised DC5s but surely they can't insure your car with 40k of mods 😂😂😂😂😂

I did my first year with Admiral group but on my recent renewal quote (august) it was classed as an S2K instead and I couldn't find it again on a new quote!

Really, you are wasting your time trying to get an idea looking online, it's a nightmare, I called around and found Brentacre had the best deal for me.

I'd be extremely vigilant when getting a quote from any online source, as most often the model covered is not a DC5. For example I've just run one through using my FD2 and it comes up as a UK 3 door car. Admiral gave me a quote for my DC5, but when I looked into it they had it down as a UK DC2. Admiral are also horrendous to deal with if in the unfortunate event you have to.

in my experience all insurance companies are excremente to deal with when it comes to them having to pay out, unfortunately insurance is just a necessary evil which we all need for the paperwork, mine was with admiral only a few weeks ago, my online quote was listed as "2.0 TYPE R DC5 IMPORT" and they were cheapest by a long way even compared to the so called "specialists"

I was insured with Greenlight (Highway were the underwriters) and they were exceptional.

Previous claims were with Sky (Marker Study) who were both horrific to deal with.

I‘m going to give a couple a ring

Is there a direct number for forum members for greenlight and prestige above?

I have two cars to insure, mine and wife.
