Ok, heres a few of various cars ive had.

205 Gti in Nissan QM1 White. Zaino Z2, Z2 and Z8

Audi A3. Machine polished (top half is what it all looked like after 2000,3000,4000 grit) with 3M Yellow Green and Blue

Honda CRX EF8. Same 3M stuff. Then Zainoas above.

I wouldnt recommend sanding the 'orange peel' out of the lacquer. Unless your serious about keeping it pristine, as it does serve a purpose!
