Hi people, does anyone know where i can get hold of a set of 2 piece OEM sized discs from that i can just buy the discs from in the future (not the bells again) and if there is a better kit that will work with standard wheels im all ears.
Cheers, Adam.

I'm running the buddy club/japshop SPD 2 piece discS with hawk hp+ pads. Not cheap at £600 for both but the combination truly is epic IMO!

Just checked them out look like a lovely set of discs, do you know if they can get hold of the discs themselves without the bells in the future?

They said they could. But I've also spoken to reyland and hi spec who are near me and they've both said they'll make rotors if I drop off an old one for somewhere between £200 and 300. So loads of options they seen great ATM mate. I went to watch tin tops at brands and a race spec dc5 who won the series last year runs the same setup. and buddy club do on their race car! So must be good. I've got tgm lines and ate super blue and the set up is awesom. I'm doing brands next Thursday so I can let you know how I get on!

I looked and couldn't get hold of ap discs. They quote their only uk reseller as burton power, a ford specialist which is pretty useless! So I gave up on them!

Dotty they look sweet, can you remember how much they were by any chance? Also does anyone know where to find Carbon Lorraine pads that fit?

Carbon Lorraine pads are not made for dc5 you have to buy the ones for 350z and get 2mm or so shaved off. Driftworks sell them but are not cheap and did cause heat spot issues on mine even with grooved mtec discs. Used as daily driver.

Hawk performance hp+ are a serious bit of kit for £125. I ran ds2500 before and they're 100x better. Take two or three good stops to get up to temp but most high spec race/fast road pads are like that anyway.

I was under the impression the hawk pads were an equivalent to ds2500 pads.

My next pad choice will be Pagid Yellow Rs29...

i had no love for the ds2500 or ds3000 pads, i could get 2500's to fade after a couple of laps, 3000 were great but only lasted 1 and a half trackdays which wasnt great,

This may sound like a stupid question; but what are so good about this type of brake setup?

I do have something similar to this setup on my car which was already on there when I bought it. However I have never came to replacing the front disks or pads yet so have never properly inspected them.

I've had pretty basic brake setups in the past as I have only had small engined, nothing special, kind cars.

Could someone please enlighten me as to why upgrading to 2 peice brakes are better?

Thanks,
Carl.

Hawks IMO after running them back to back with ds2500s are no comparison. I can't comment on how long they'll last as I'm running them with grooved discs and they've only been on a month or so. But they pull up 100% better. Much sharper, more responsive and nice and progressive. Track day at brands Thursday so I'll let you know if I can cook them!!
