Announcing the 2011 Honda VTEC Challenge

The VTEC Challenge is a new and exciting All Honda race series that will be running in conjunction with BARC - the British Automobile Racing Club and with support from Yokohama Tyres. The series aims to provide an ideal setting for the newcomer to racing to feel welcome, safe and to quickly learn the ropes and come up to speed alongside a mixture of novices and more experienced drivers. With full tyre sponsorship and on-site spares and service support, the series aims to be a very financially viable series that caters for all Honda enthusiasts. The new season will start in April 2011 so plenty of time to get those cars ready. Provisional circuit calendar includes Silverstone, Donnington, Mallory Park, Croft, Anglesea and Snetterton.

To find out more, please check out the website and the forum which can be found at www.vtecchallenge.co.uk

Thanks for your time

Mike and Kris.

Just a little update. Due to massive interest we are adding two additional rounds to the 2011 calendar making it an 8 round series.

Also, we will have Matt Neal, Dan Eaves and Matt Hamiltons ex BTCC EP3 civics running in the series for 2011! These will obviously be modified back to production spec for the series.

Draft Regs are now up on the forum, and we are also pleased to announce that Total Honda Magazine is an official sponsor of the VTEC Challenge for 2011. Total Honda magazine, which will be launched next April (when our series starts!), is from TCM who produce the very successful Total Impreza and Total EVO magazines. Obviously Total Honda will be the most successful of them all!!

Benefits to the series will be:
- full feature on the series in the launch issue.
- 2 page write ups of the series progress/results in each issue
- 1/2 page advert detailing dates etc.
- General promotion by TCM

Benefits to racers will be:
- Free annual subscription to Total Honda!!
- Lots of lovely pics of their cars in magazines

Cheers

Mike and Kris

It is with great pleasure that I can confirm that two top brand names in the tuning world have signed up to be series sponsors of the VTEC Challenge.

World leading suspension manufacturer “Öhlins” and "HEL Performance" have now joined "Yokohama" and "Total Honda" in support of our cause.

Founded in 1976, the Swedish brand Öhlins has been a major player on the motorsport scene for well over 30 years, and they have now committed to bringing their race bred DNA to the "VTEC Challenge"

Öhlins supply some of the great names in the automotive sector, with the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani using Öhlins for suspension supremacy.

Leading manufacturer of brake and clutch lines “HEL” are also offering a huge discount on brake/clutch lines for all competitors, and will be providing prizes at each round!

I hope you will join me in welcoming Öhlins and HEL to a growing list of sponsors, and look forward to a great year, and cementing a long term relationship with them both.

“VTEC Challenge” has the pleasure in introducing another well known brand name to the list of sponsors already geared up to support the series.

Rota Wheels was formed nearly 30 years ago, and currently produces a wide range of lightweight wheels for both motorsport and street applications.

The world-class quality wheels are meticulously designed and superbly engineered to withstand the rigours of the race track.

Rota Wheels are already used by many professional race car drivers and teams around the world and are immensely popular in the aftermarket industry.

“Rare-Rims”, who are the European agent for Rota Wheels, will be putting the company‘s products to the test thanks to their driver Julian Pearcy who will be competing next year in his DC2 Integra.

In addition to signing up to sponsor the series, Rota Wheels will also be offering significant discounts to registered entrants, so if your not already signed up what are you waiting for!

Another great result for the series organisers in securing this well known brand.

It‘s been a feverish few days over at the VTEC Challenge HQ, with the team putting pen to paper to secure 3 fantastic new sponsors.

The series is gathering pace quickly in the run up to the first event at Silverstone on the 3rd and 4th April, and is fast becoming one of the most talked about and anticipated race series for some time.

This is something which has not gone unnoticed, and has helped pull in these well known backers.

A huge “vote of confidence” for a freshly launched series.

Hendy Performance

“Hendy Performance” is a division of the “Hendy Group”, which as well as providing parts for a range of popular performance marques, they are also the main agents for Spoon Sports in the Middle East and its surrounding regions.

Spoon Sports are arguably one of the most recognisable tuning brands associated with Honda, and as part of their support to the “VTEC Challenge”, “Hendy Performance” will be offering big discounts on OEM Honda parts as well as “Spoon Sports” products.

I‘m sure you‘ll agree that having the family run business of “Hendy Performance” joining the ranks, will be a fantastic opportunity for everyone concerned.

PETRONAS Lubricants

PETRONAS is a well known name within the lubricants industry, and has been involved with Formula 1 since 1995, providing sponsorship to Sauber, BMW and more recently Mercedes. This sponsorship has allowed PETRONAS unique access for lubricants research and development.

Their motorsports involvement also includes single-seater racing, GT endurance racing and motorcycle racing.

PETRONAS has supplied a quantity of race oil for use as prizes, plus big discounts will be available on further oil purchases.

PETRONAS will be supplied through “Hendy Performance” as part of its continued support of the series.

More details on the discounts available will be provided shortly.

Corbeau Seats & Luke Harnesses

“Corbeau” was founded nearly 50 years ago, and still to this day continues to serve the highest ranking teams in all forms of motor sports.

Grown from one man‘s ambition to have a better race seat for his competition car, Corbeau now retail their excellent range of seats and harnesses to hundreds of countries.

“Corbeau” will be the official Safety Partner for the series, and will be able to provide help and advice on all matters associated with seats, harnesses and Hans Devices.

I think you will agree, that this is a great result, and they join: “Yokohama”, “R-Motion”, “Ohlins”, “HEL” “Rota Wheels” and “Total Honda” as series sponsors for 2011.
