215 tire on 8jj

hey guys,

i am wondering, if fitting a 215 width tire on 8jj wheel will make my car handle worse?

lets say it fits ok no rubbing etc.. does it hurts the handling?

if anything iif would imagine that it will make the initial steering response quicker as there is more tension on the tyre.

other than that grip levels will be the same as before and everything else should be the same.

I run federal rsr's 215/45/17 on my enkei's and they are 8 wide fit no problems and grip levels are fine

I run 215 on a 8JJ rim, no issues what so ever
Although I will either be going for 225 on them for more grip or chopping in for a wider rim altogether

I think 8.5 would be a perfect width on yours

Yeah I was thinking something like 8.5 or 9 with a slightly higher offset, decisions decisions lol

I have run 215 AD08's and 225 RE070's on 17 x 8JJ wheels, both performed very well, Loads of grip from both! I would have stuck to 215's (purely for aesthetic reasons) but the RE070 is only in 225. I will probably go back to 215's when I need new tyres again.

I've heard people say 225 tramlines more but in this situation on an 8jj would there be any difference between the two tyre widths do you think?

I run 215/40 on my 17x8 wheels. Gives bit of stretch to the tyre which looks nice. I have had the car on two track days with them as well and handling was spot on.
