Adrian Flux- what a JOKE

Insured my DC5 5 weeks ago, Im 31 yrs old 7yrs no claims bonus, got it down to £570 with 6000 miles a year max after playing them off with SKY as my renewal was over £150 more!! I didnt think this was that bad.

After 5 weeks of the policy starting, I sold my DC5 and have bought a 58 plate Audi A4 2.0 diesel, rung them up to swap cars, assuming it would be cheaper or around the same, they wanted a additional £580 for the rest of the year!!

I thought what a joke, even on moneysupermarket I could get it for £540 for the full year, instead of the combined £1150! spoke to them and told them they said there was nothing they could do, I was refunded only £340 so 5 weeks of insurance has cost me £230.

Be carefull with these guys if you tend to swap your cars from time to time, I though that quote was disgusting for a 'family car' coming from something high performance as the DC5!!

Sounds like they are trying to charge you twice?? Did you speak to anyone else or just the one person?

Well to be fair they are for performance cars not boring diesel rep mobiles.

I have no problem with them, have insured all my decent cars through them over past few years (3 DC5's and R33 GT-R) and change all the time with no issue (was £70 more for my 400BHP R33 which I thought was more than fair) but wouldn't dream of insuring boring diesels through them I use Confused.com and just picked the cheapest (Quinn for my Leon & Ibiza for example, but they wouldn't TOUCH me on a DC5).

Hope you don't think I'm being harsh but I'm just telling you how it is. 95% of those companies you have on the comparison websites don't even quote for DC5s! Insurance companies are a disaster in general but don't get me started on them! :(

Fair opinion but id hardly call my Audi boring esp with the spec it has, its just a different type of car, I know Flux specialise In high performance cars but to insult you with a quote like that is quite shocking especially when I've just insured the car for £440 for the full year!

I had the same problem with flux when i changed from the teg to the jordan. They wanted more for the jordan than the teg even though elsewhere I was quoted £400 for the Jordon. Genuinely didn't make sense going from a 2.0l import to a 1.6 and paying more on insurance so I pulled them up on this and they said that due to being a specialist insurer 'normal' cars always came out more expensive. Basically it is so people don't insure their people carriers with them as they want to be know for specialist insurance. They lost my custom anyway.

I also had a similar problem when changing cars with AF, and they're pretty much the reason I have to wait until April to get a DC5. Wanting £550 for 3 months is unacceptable I think.

I've just renewed with Sky again after they gave me a solid price. I've recently rung up with varying cars that I'm looking at and none have had higher than £150 increase over what I paid. That's including Evo's. FD2's and DC5's.

I would not use Marker Study though. They are one of the companies Sky use. I had issues with them during a claim and others on here have too.

Some other places aren't as competitive enough for what I've been quoted from Greenlight, and with only having 3 months left before I get my 4th NCB, I dunno but I feel for the sake of 3 months.. getting my 4th NCB is worth it, even if it will only save me £100 or so. Having 4 NCB at 22 I think is pretty decent.

Sorry to drag this post back up but Adrian Flux have just lost my custom as well! I have literally only just renewed my policy with them (had to as still needed to use the car) until i could find a teg. I phoned them to see what price they would do for the teg. They came back with £1600!!! I couldn't believe they wanted to much!

When i asked them how much to cancel my insurance in that case as i would be going with Admiral (they only want £458) They told me that i am 1 DAY over my 14 day cancellation period and want £351 from me to cancel my policy!!

I was speechless. How do they get away with this rubbish.
