Hi,

Just wanted to see if anyone has bought a car from Langtree Garages before. If anyone has, are they any good and reliable? Let me know either way if they are good or bad.

thanks,

I bought one from Langtree

I got mine this Christmas time from Langtree.

I didn't know it at the time but Steve who runs the place has been a friend of my sister since she was about 17 - She's now 42. A few of my mates knew him and I checked his background out before I shelled out me £17,500. Word is Steve's ok but I reckon he's a typical car dealer - i.e. he doesn't give much away - he is in it for the money after all, otherwise he wouldn't have a business.

My sale went really smoothly. I had to borrow the money which took a couple of weeks and Steve kept the car for me. The radio wasn't uk and the band expander didn't work very well. Langtree replaced the band expander twice but it didn't help as the aerial on the teg is in the back window and not very good. They then offered to put in a brand new UK Clarion radio/CD. I wanted an mp3 player so asked them to put £100 to it. They didn't have to but they did and they even fitted the thing for me free of charge.

A couple of weeks later I mentioned that the handbrake (which are poor on the teg anyway) didn't work very well and so Langtree (who don't have a service workshop) booked the car in at a local garage again free of charge.

Steve, who owns Langtree, used to be part of Bolton dealer Warander before they all fell out with each other. I don't know the details but I do know that Steve has been in the business of importing cars from Japan for a long time and he seems honest and reliable.

My DC5 was about 18 months old with only 5k on the clock. It's seems genuine too - the car is immaculate - even smells new. £17.5k isn't a bad price for such a minter. I haven't seen one as nice anywhere since though, not even at Langtree.

They got a blue one in at the moment for £16.5k I think its a tad high but hey - make an offer if you want one. Whats the worst that can happen?

I give them 9/10 for sales, 9/10 for after sales but no servicing is a slight problem.

Another thing - Thatcham cat 1

Langtree fit Thatcham cat 1 alarm immobilser to nearly all their cars.

It's a pro fit with certificate and you can't see any evidence without lifting the bonnet.

Hi mate, i went a few weeks ago and there were only three white integra type r's that he had in. They were all very nice and in very good condition indeed, but the only problem was that they were abit too expensive!! I had a chat with him regarding the price and he said he could work something out and maybe do it cheaper if i was really intrested. These cars were not undersealed and if you wanted them doing it would cost another £100 to do but apart from that they are one of the best condition white teg's i have seen. I didnt buy from Steve in the end because i thought he was too expensive and therefore i just looked everywhere and waited and LUCK was with me, there was a Silver DC5 on 02 plate with red recaro's and in mint condition for only 14k!! 2k CHEAPER than Langtree!! And in a rarer colour as well!! The bloke who sold me the car is a TOP BLOKE because he threw me in a performance backbox,a vtec controller and also an induction kit!! What more could i want for that price!! Excellent!!

If it's the same guy who used to run warrender, I'd be more than staying clear.

Bought an Evo from there, told him I'd pick it up in 2 weeks and to fix a mark on the front bumper and to fit a tracker, plus get all service books and 6 months tax.

Turned up two weeks later, hadn't even been washed let alone the bumper fixed. It had no tax which I had to get myself and then spend ages claiming back. The service books took 5 months to track down and get delivered.

And worst of all, after trying to get the tracker fitting receipt for insurance purposes (2 months) I was told they accidentaly fitted it to a wrong car (a fecking Escort!) and that I wasn't covered

So two months with no tracker, invalid insurance and paying out for the subscrition while living in Slough (of all places), I was a little less than happy with them. He never returned calls, emails or letters.

I would happily see them burn in hell

Sorry...rant over

I got mine from Langtree, gave me a good part ex on my old car and the DC5 was mint, so I was willing to pay a little extra, Cat1 fitted but no underseal but I don't car about that as I'm going to have it all waxoiled before the bad weather sets in.

They are pretty good to deal with and their cars are allways a high grade.
