Anyone know any history for Y542 LRN

As title really. I'm looking at purchasing a DC5 in the near future. I had a quick look around this one last week, and it could do with a good clean, and a few minor bodywork issues being sorted. It appears to be completely standard other than the AEM V2 induction kit.

Does anyone have any history/info about this car? The price seemed fairly reasonable to me, am I correct?

Price seems ok, I assume you'd get 6 months engine/gearbox warranty with that. Have you had a look on here in the for sale section?

I paid £7500 with 56,000 miles for mine which is the same year.

What bodywork issues are they sorting?

One way to get a bit of history is if you ask them for the last MOT certificate number then use the link below you can find out a lot of info on every MOT the vehicle has had.. If it's failed, what advisories it had etc, also gives you a mileage check, pretty good!

Good luck mate.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately to be able to purchase a car from here, I'd need to sell on my car first, which could be done, but I'd rather avoid the hassle if possible.

I'm not too sure about the warranty, service history etc, as when I initially went to view it, I just wanted to make sure I liked the car in general, with the plan being to wait until march and buy a newer, lower mileage, pristine example. However, after having a think, I've decided it may be worth buying this one, and sorting out the minor issues myself.

I'm just back from a second viewing. Sadly I'm still teg-less though. It wasn't as clean as I'd first thought, there was a fair amount of rust on the seams in the engine and the start of some more around the rear arches. So back on the hunt for another, cleaner, car.

What state are cars fresh from Japan rust wise? I know generally they are better than a uk car of the same age, but are they completely rust free?

Also has anyone used Dicksons of Perth to import their DC5 recently? What sort of price should I be looking at for a good prefacelift car fresh off the boat?

200bhp cars aren't trading anymore are they? Wheres the next reputable importer to Aberdeen?
