sorry if in wrong section but unsure where to post

friend is in market for dc5 (doesnt really know much about cars and just fancies something different to bmw 330ci he has now)

he said he saw this and being local is bonus, any prev owner on here or know car well ? thought id ask

i personally know he'll hate the mods so i would end up putting car back to standard for him so not too concerned about them


no idea what reserve is and budget is about 10k

It looks good for the price. (I guess, Im not very familiar with UK prices) If he didnt sell it for long time, maybe has something... I would take it to a good mechanic to check from top to bottom. How many miles it has?

Car screams AVOID to me. Modded DC5 but not up for sale on here? strange to me, i know theres a reserve but seeing 7k on a 2004 with 50k miles worries me aswell. esp a black one.

Surprised nobody has been to see this or asked the owner whats wrong with it.
tbh if there was nothing wrong with it then the car would be snapped up at 10k easily on here.

I don't like the way the ad mentions more than one that the bodywork is in good condition for its age and the there are a few marks and scratches but that is to be expected on a 7 year old car Hmmm my car is 9 years old and its done more mileage than that and I can tell you there ain't a mark on it dood

U cannot judge the car by scratches. And the age doesnt really matters. Its can be bad luck u park somewhere and somene scratches ur car. Almost all the cars have scratches on theme so its not the problem in this case. The question is why the car with mods, good looking is so cheap and nobody buys it? As I say b4, take it to mechanic.

you cant honestly judge a car just because its modded and not for sale on here that's just stupid not every dc5 owner is a member on this forum
Have you ever seen ebay prices? just because its sitting at 7k doesn't mean it will stay there, generally modded ebay cars go for 10%-20% less than if its sold through a specialist forum
Again cant judge the car on its paintwork condition as said above every car will have scratches

honestly the advert seems genuine enough, but its ebay after all you say its not to far away, go have a look over it, ull soon tell if its genuine or not

never bothered to look at this car in the end, if it was bargain somebody would have bought long time ago

went to look at 1 at honda in wakefield, ok condition but me personally would never touch it, following just totally put me of

couple stone chips that stand out (easy smart repair so not a problem)
clean bodywork and interior, prof detail would have made it mint
cheap and nasty tyres all round (wouldnt touch dc5 that has these on, shows how much someone cares about there car)
cheap oil and pads used (again i would touch car due to this)
wrong size plates back and front
stereo removed
no c pack
cheap s/s exhaust
basic history

want mate to go view car someone on here is selling as car id personally buy just be reading his pm's to me but its 2001 which is puttin him of and he tryin to avoid tryin sell his private

Ok, well I have gone out on a limb and secured this car for myself. Im goin to collect it on Monday.

I have had a fair few performance cars (Focus Rs, 200sx, R33 GTR, Evo5, Evo8, 4 imprezas and a Ep3 milano CTR etc....) so thought a Teg should join the club.

Was told that the Tegs are nice cars and have seen a few local and liked them. Im no fan of the bonnet on this car so it will be for sale soon after I collect the car and I will need to find a stock black one (any ideas??). I had some detailed pics sent to me and the wheels need a refurb and the body a full machine buff to remove surface marks. Also might need to refurb the front seats (was hard to tell in pics). As for mechanics I will give it a good test drive 1st and if it seems ok Ill do the deal but service it asap and have a local garage inspect it. But I got a ok deal on it so I have a budget for repairs etc should any be needed....

I could use some advice on the wheels though. Should I refurb them CW again or would another colour work better?

Hi, do u know what bonet is it? maybe ill be interested. what about the rims, I think black would go better, full black car is nice, if u can tint the windows will be awesome 8)

Fella has now pulled out of a deal with my 2003 Golf R32 with 32k on the clock because its on Isle of Ma plates so Im now down £200. What a dick. I thought he sounded funny on the phone but I try not o judge as I deal in a fair few cars.

Well back to looking and if any1 fancys a deal with my R32 which is a well looked after car give me a shout

Great forum though and when I get a DC5 Ill be on here a lot

na, thats what it cost me to sort the boat to liverpool and they wont give it back If any1 has or knows some1 who wants a R32 and has a DC5 let me know
