Apps that show revs/gauges

Can anyone recommend a good app which gives you a digital readout of things such as revs, oil pressure etc which you can link up via the phone to the head unit please?

Also, does the mobile need to be rooted for this to work or does it simply connect via bluetooth?

I have an un-rooted Samsung S6.

Torque Pro is what I use, with a WiFi elm327.

No root needed.

I have an MHL adapter which worked on my Nexus 4 but it's not compatible with the S6.

By downloading that App and using the ODB2 ELM327, will I be able to transfer the info on to my head unit screen or will I need more gear for this?

Has your head unit got screen mirroring or casting capabilities?

My headunit is android, so most functionality is available from the unit

dont forget you can only read inputs that ecu has, so for example no oil pressure

I don't think it has, it's one of the very first Appradio's so it's a bit behind.

The phone has mind but not the radio. Won't bother doing it if I can't get it on the screen as I don't really want it on the phone.

I used 'dash command' (I think it was called). Obviously that was a little while ago, but might be worth a look Marc. It was free.
