Ballast or bulb?

My HID bulb went the other day on the drivers side. Didn't glow pink or strobe before. Just didn't turn on. Could this be the igniter? The ballast? Or the bulb? I did try a spare bulb that I thought worked and that didn't light up either. I don't want to go down the whole route of buying bits I don't need. Just need to check what parts I have. I have a multimeter.

Try the bulb that works in the headlight unit, if it still doesn't work then it will be the ballast.

If both do not work the. Could be the light switch on stalk.

as said swap the lamps over, if it is the ballast which it probably is buy and aftemarket kit and replace the whole lot mate, ( both sides) then at least you will have another few years trouble free

Turned out it was the ballast. The bulb was going yellow then turning off after about 1 minute.

Will open up the old ballast to see if it can be fixed. It was getting hot so could be a MOSFET.
