i think what is ''best'' and ''what people seem to be buying the most of'' are two completely different things.

Nitron R1 look incredible. Getting great reviews and they will customise them with different spring rates. £3k though.

Basically if you have a budget <800quid... most people go for yellow speed, Meister r, or BC racing. (Plenty of meister r reviews on this forum)

If you've got a bit more of a budget maybe look into bilstein b14/b16's.

If you're absolutely minted then look into nitron's.

That's pretty much it.

Pretty much this. Intrax are great also.

I'm very happy with B16 and you can get them for less than £1100.

Missed the boat on nitrons price wise, what I paid for my r1s and equivalent set is nearly a grand more. Highly recommend them though

I am currently having a set of meister gt1's built for me.

What is the car going to be used for?

Mostly road use, a few track days not a lot
I'd go for MeisterR CRD+ or something along those lines... (BC etc.)

Just beware that you'll want to buy some "adjustable" tie rods and rear camber arms at minimum.

If you adjust camber via the top mount (maybe even hub too) you'll end up running out of toe adjustment and without rear camber arms you'll end up with potentially -2.00' camber on the rear which is pretty awful to drive on with less front camber.

How did that go? Did you have to fit ep3 track rod ends? And rear camber arms?
Yes you need EP3 track rod ends (included now I believe) and you'll want rear camber arms unless you're happy being stuck with -2.00' + rear camber, I only lowered mine 30mm and that's what i ended up with.
