Best Roads in Wales from Chester to South Wales?

Hi All,

I'm travelling up to Southport this weekend and fancy visiting Chester on my way back. Rather than driving the boring motorway back I thought it would be a good opportunity to drive some nice roads through Wales before heading back to Southampton.

Can anybody suggest some good options?

Great, cheers. Having done a bit more research since posting I came across these too. I'm a bit embarrassed to say I've never heard of the Evo Triangle! (even after reading plenty of Evo mags). The A roads through the Brecon Beacons look fantastic. There looks to be a nice little route just off the A470 too (in the Elan Valley)
