BEWARE!! 'flo'

Hi, don't really spend much time on the forum but the infamous 'yc53 flo' dc5 has popped up for sale on autotrader,
from what looks like a honda dealers/specialists and thought I'd come on and give a heads-up.

Im sure most know the story behind this car, but for those potential buyers that don't, use the search button
and all will become clear.

I cannot beleive this is up again, I also cannot beleive it is being sold by a main dealer, it is cheap though so maybe the know its history..... or do they?????

It's my local dealer and the lad traded it in for a 1.8 civic but get this he paid 12k for it just over 12 months ago.
I posted up in the flo thread that I had sold him some mats and when I went to drop them off there was flo so I tried to tell him about the thread on the forum but I don't think he quite got what I was trying to tell and I was trying to be descrete about
So he tried to tell me how it was in good nick butyou don't even have to look hard to see the rust and overall it's a dog so I hope my local honda dealer (which I might add is good) has sorted the bits that needed doing as it needed a bit of work like.

Yes that's also one of my local Honda dealers and you would expect a good car from a main Honda dealer :?

The lad who owned 'FLO' previously only lives a couple of miles from me. Maybe we could arrange a 'group viewing' of this car at Lookers? :lol:

I would suggest they be made aware of this report and their actions requested to resolve the situation, if these are not forthcoming then the matter could be passed to the Trading Standard Office for their consideration.

The price seems very reasonable to me too, considering it's being sold by a Honda main dealer and with that low a mileage. Seems like they may already know something about the car's history.....

Doesn't say in the Autotrader anything about the condition of it either :?

Tbh it would be well worth buying because they will give you a 12month warranty with it and that means 12 months trouble motoring as the honda warranty is top class, it would also be worth telling them you'd buy it subject to an AA check and they will fix anything that needs doing

i think they'd offer only 3 months warrenty as its a used car....

I bought an accord type r from them 2 yrs ago on a W reg and got a 12 month top spec warranty they give a warranty with all used cars and there a min of 12 months, as i said earlier in the thread there a top class honda dealer i think they just got caught out on this one :shock:

I looked at a different DC5 at another Honda dealer last weekend, it only came with a 3 month warranty from the dealer, not Honda. There reasoning for this is that its an import. It also was taxed already, unusual for a dealer car so its outside the normal used car scheme.

Interestingly it also appeared to have some accident history.

Some dealers do offer a 12 month warranty on the DC5 but it just depends what the dealer is like.
