Buying "grey" import Integra

Hi,

I have come over from the Civic owners forum, and hope someone here can help me out.
I currently have a 14 month old CTR which I have owned from new.

Tomorrow I am going to test drive an imported DC5 Intergra.

What advise can peopl give me regarding a grey import.
Questions that I have thought of so far include:
Will dealerships be able to get spares?
Are there problems getting insured?

I know that Honda might be releasing the DC5 over here next year but I fear that if they do the trade in price from my Civic will drop.
Not sure if any problems of owning a grey import would offset the extra I would get by selling my civic now.

I would be most grateful for any views or opinions anybody can provide me with .

Thanks

James

You cant get a Grey Import DC5 they do White(best colour), silver red, black and blue  sorry thats was bad

Im still new to this and not owned my DC5 long, im sure alot of ppl on here will help.

Parts- Not a problem to get, i think.

Services- Honda will do them fine as simular to CTR.

Insurance- Best getting a quote before you decide to buy, got mine from tescos.

best having a read through the threads on the forum, sorry wasnt much help.

PS. looks like all the CTR owners are coming this way

Yeah thanks for that very bad joke.

Will ring my insurance company in (Egg) in the morning for a quote, closed now.

Would you say that insurance is on par with the Civic?
Did you have any problems with the fact that it is an import.

No problem with "grey imports" mate

You will get insurance without any problems
You can get parts for it, within two days if need be.. body panels will take longer..
Brakes etc .. on the shelve
You can also get a Hondacare warranty from your local honda dealer

Anything else you want to know.??

I bought mind from them.

great service, very kind people there, when the time i bought mine, they have all the colour instock in their show room apart from Red. i go for black at last :)

took me 5 hours drive up there because of the big big traffic. very kind of them, they all wait for me until 10:30pm.

One year warrenty, any problem. bring to any honda dealer, they pay for it.

some of them came with free mod too, mind one came with very nice MD CD TV Nav system. but is a shame can't use TV and NAV here. i think i am going to remove it.

from EP3 to DC5, for me normal road use and Track beginner.

Road use:

everyone look to ur car, and stop u ask u question about the car, what car is it.... is this type R ..... even when u driving. happed to me few times.

insurance is group 22 at Tesco, if u are new drive, u will end up pay around 2-3k for a year.

suprised me how big is the boot.

Gas, almost the same, full tank around 300Mile.

less comfort with the DC5 seat. long drive at motaway, gave me pains and needle.

i notice when i am driving, DC5 have more engine noise then the EP3.

Track Use:

LSD can give u few seconds different quicker per lap. specially in wet.

BHP: can't really few big different....

Seat hold u in place, DC5 Recaro is a lot lot better, good for passager and driving on track.

u will easy carry more speed though coner on track with DC5, car give u more confident.

All in all, I love DC5 but i also miss the EP3, passager start complaining they don't have enought space to sleep at the back seat :p
if u haven't bought the EP3 yet. buy DC5. u will love it.

I feel more oversteer from DC5 then EP3 on track.
but once u get use to it. is so fun, and is look cool from the car behind you :xvtec: but it will slow u down.

skills is more important for me on track, i am still working hard on it.

all the best
