you could try get the evidence yourself but may takes ages and ages and lots of letters/calls - depends on who you speak to

happened to my golf a few years ago. massive damage to the door and rear wing. when i reported it at the police station they actually laughed....said there wasnt anything they could do.
ended up just paying myself £400. now i park it away from everyone else or take the old mans car to big shopping centres.
