Ok, so this has to be in the most awkward place. What's the easiest way to access it, from above or underneath the car?

Also, the "special" tool that's mentioned in the tech manual - anyone have one of these? Are they easy to get hold of?

Cheers.

Tried strap wrenches, chain wrenches & 3 fingered oil filter clamp wrenches..... Still cant get the beggar off

In the end I always give up and take it to my local garage.....

I've found an oil filter wrench in screwfix (www.screwfix.co.uk) which is only 8 quid, so I've ordered that.

I'm doing a car maintanence starting next week, so hopefully I'll be able to get it up on the ramp - might make it a bit easier.

I've changed mine no problem.

I've got one of these to change mine.

Long arms do help though

taking the driveshaft cover off helps enormously, i use a set of plumbers grips, or a screwdriver

well i had a bad time yesterday changing mine.
as before i jack up the car get under and "usually"it twists with a little give.
not this time!
i found taking off the drivers side wheel gave me better angles to it.
in the end i tried tapping it up a bit, then it punctured aahh!
i got a loan of the clamp from a friend and it worked a dream.
i was two hours late for work.
lesson learned :xsmachbottom:

Mine took about 400 hours the first time!!

Kept buying different devices to sort it, the chain one did it in the end!!
