Checking age of a DC5?

Is there anyway to check the true age of a DC5, i.e. when it was first registered in Japan?

I realise all the UK/JAP documents should tie up so that the V5 shows the correct date, but would imagine there must be occasions when mistake are made - intentional or otherwise!

I saw mention in an older post about checking the dates on the seat belt - but I'm guessing this could be different to the first date of registration of the car?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Checking the dates of components on the cars only shows when the parts themselves were manufactured, not when the car was registered as it could have sat in a compound for months before.

Not sure there's any other way of checking other than the V5, sorry couldn't be more help.

The seat belt tags are the the only indicator of age that I know of.. But as quite rightly said above, this will be earlier than the registration date.

Only way I know is by Checking with the DVLA against the Numberplate...

Would the date of manufacture/registration show up if you took the chassis number to Honda and asked them to run it through their system?

some cars do have build codes but don't think the chasis number will prove date of production.

Have a look on here:

http://japautoauctions.com/month

I popped my Chassis number in for my old MR2 and it came back with the Month of production - don't know if it's what you're after but hope it's of some help :)

Edit - sorry it only shows the year it was manufactured ](*,)
