As above, get it done properly. Anything that's a "quick fix" is never going to be to the standard of a reputable body shop.

Usually if you google companies like that, it's enough to put most people off. They are a franchise so experiences can vary drastically depending on whether you get a good or a bad one. I personally wouldn't take the risk, especially if someone else is paying ;)

Exactly this, not to tar all mobile companies with the same brush but generally speaking the quality of repair and finish left behind are not 100%! Also over time the "quick fix" can come off leaving you back at square one.

Go to a reputable body shop and have it done properly, it may cost you slightly more but from personal experience if you buy cheap, you buy twice !

Chips Away use shit products which from a distance might look ok but the quality of paint is really rough and it turns worse over time. Spend the extra and get a proper spray. Unfortunately it will not be cheap as they'll need to spray a large section to blend with the rest of the paint work but it will be worth it for the quality of finish.

Thanks for the responses I understand the quick fix gimmicks, I just wanted it fixed asap. I was pretty torn when he told me and just didn't want to delay or cause anymore blemishes leaving it unattended. But I have taken the advice given above and will take to an insurance approved body shop and send him the invoice. He knows it's my pride and joy so does the misses. :D

Good plan, at there's at least one positive being that you know who did it and it will be rectified. Hope the repair is of a high standard mate :)

Hi got good news and bad news. I took the car to get estimated on the damages. Took it to a reputable insurance repaired body shop upon inspection the chap valued the damages and quoted £450 to rapair. So I said okay sounds good. Now here's the bad news he also said my car is in different colours now I'm shocked as he told me that my wing, bonnet and quarter panels are in different shades I was lost and agreed. But in my sight the car looks one shade it was parked in shade and sunlight so maybe he should of gone to specs savers. Any of you guys ever been told that. I will get it estimated again by another garage to confirm this just to put me at ease

Multicoloured Honda‘s are not uncommon, especially when looking at the front end. They chip very easily and a lot of people get them repaired.

CW is a really bad colour for it as matching it is very hard due to fading. I had a Milano Red one before, and that suffered from the same problem.

If it‘s someone else saying the shading is slightly different, but you‘re not unhappy with it, what is the problem? Unless of course you think that‘s it due to the car having an accident.

The car was imported through torque gt but it wasn't a auction car they purchased it off Honda dealership as I wanted a straight car with no accident history or any blemishes car is immaculate. I understand about colour fade but I've had the car for literally for 3 months now and didn't find any odd shading every time I washed the car it was glowing all I could see was one shade, but then again the body shop are professionals and advised to do all one side.

Yeah that‘s fair – it could be a case of the fact that they may struggle to blend the fresh paint on one panel in with the older paint as well then. That‘s the reason a lot of people end up getting full front end resprays when only something like the bonnet or bumper really needs doing.

End of the day, you‘re not paying for it so happy days!

I used chips away a couple years ago, for a small dent/chip on my rear quarter.

... the car came back with a yellowish quarter panel, It went back not once but twice..!

Thier excuse was contaminated laquer.

Yeah perhaps, he did state to do whole wing and door then to blend it into the rear quarter panel otherwise as you mentioned will have fresh new paint and may notice shading. But this is only one garage so will get a few more opinions from other body shop and see what they say. Overall told the girlfriend what they quoted so papa has to pay up, and learn to use his mirrors and reverse properly

Any body shop will say the same. To get a less noticeable change in colour, they would advise to doing more than the damaged panel to "blend" it in. This is also another way of body shops making money. Any body shop specialist worth his salt will use paint matching tools specifically designed to remove this "blending" by getting accurate colours to begin with.

As said, you're not paying so get it done to a standard that you're happy with! If that includes the entire side of the car, then so be it! :)
