Most places including well known specialist use the Exedy OEM type and just call it 'OEM'. Don't know many that use 'Honda' for the clutch.

We're using the OEM exedy in ours and it's perfect! Cheap too!

Oem all the way. I had an exedy replacement before and it didnt last long at all. Also when a friend of mine with a dc5 his clutch failed, i told him to buy oem, he bought exedy to save money, i told him they were crap, he took the failed one out and it was an exedy and the fingers that hold the springs in had snapped and then regretted not buying oem lol.

Never had to replace mine but heard a lot of bad things about the Exedy and the Exedy OEM. If it were me I would go Honda OEM just for peace of mind.

Oem from cox honda with a bearing is cheap. Go with that I would. You won‘t save much going exedy, bit you run the risk as others state above.

Wow, this has surprised me.

When looking most were advising the Exedy.

Since having one fitted, not had a problem and that's including track use.

I did 190,000 miles on my Honda OEM clutch and just replaced it with another Honda one. I have tracked and driven it hard over the miles and it shows you how good the OEM ones are.

There's a few bad reviews on the Exedy, while I doubt they're as bad as people say they are I wouldn't take the risk personally. The clutch on these cars aren't a weak point so if I were replacing mine I'd go for OEM. Everyone is different though

Hi mate,

I had my my clutch taken out a few years back as it felt like it was on its way but Grinspeed said the clutch is fine, my dad's a mechanic too and said it looks like new - nothing wrong with it.

You're welcome to have it for £20 plus delivery if you want mate, might be cheaper than buying a new one.

I've got pics if you want them.

Cheers.

I know many people (myself included) who have the Exedy branded OEM replacement clutch fitted with absolutely no problems at all. Mine has been in about 3 years now I think.
