Cost of importing a DC5

you can get a 2001 DC-5 for 7-9k in Japan then importing, shipping,sva etc... you can get one on the road for £10k 2001-2003 Model with low mileage? But the question is? Can you be as**ed. Coming back to a DC-5 are we? The longest you would wait is 6 months

How much is the, importing,shipping SVA etc?
How do I find one? Do I have to physically go to Jap land?

yeah u need a middle man who can look at the cars over there and sort stuff out for you. Azz knows a guy over there...well i say knows him he used him and was bob on.

Right here goes.
For a car thats already in the UK
Your going to be looking around
13500 - 17000 for a good example
You may be able to find them cheaper if you look hard enough.
To import your self can some times work out a bit cheaper.
for instance.
These are rought costing for importing on your self, however there are was of getting this a bit cheaper
integra type r dc5
01/02 - roughly 1.75million yen
is - 1913000 fob (fee on board)
is - 1987360 cif (cost insurance frieght)
is - £9699 (today with www.xe.com )
then
duty @10% = £969 = £10668
vat @17.5%=£1867 = £12535
fee @ £400 = £12935
port charges = £75 = £13,010
now that will land it in the uk and clear customs.
it will need to be sva'd with a model report.
test = £540
model report = £200
alarm = cat 1 = £350
total £990 plus vat = £1280
grand total = £14,290.
I know of 2 cars in the UK now thats up for £9500, however its need a ESVA etc........
