the insurace company will want a second opinion but my car is in perth (scotland) the now.

Ill pay my excess of £250 and let them sort it out.

thats tough mate,hope you get it sorted ok.ours had a similar impact and though it looked fine when the geometry was done they castor wouldnt line p so it needed a new hub and bearing to straighten it out,worth mentioning to the guys at dicksons.

That's a lot of cashola, I've put prices of some of the parts I priced up about 3 years ago. I couldn't honestly believe the cost of one Alloy wheel. :shock: I'm assuming the bulk of the cost is in the steering rack plus removal and fitting of the new one!!

Your going through your insurance so don't worry too much about the cost mate, a claim is a claim regardless of if it costs £1 or £1000.

Insurance company agreed to do the work.

Also recieved a "Claim Pack" from the company who grit the roads. Worth a try i feel!

Anyone claimed the council / private road maintenance company for damage to their car?

e.g. Alloy wheel damage from pot holes etc?
